As a result of the RSPCA's Freedom Food Welfare Initiative, chicken growers are being asked to allow a significant proportion of natural light to enter the poultry building. Adding windows is the simplest and most cost effective solution, but it presents a problem when the light needs to be blocked for catching or settling chicks.
